like a feral cat being fed slowly into the rotating blade of a combine harvester

This has to be the best line in any article I have read in the paper for ages.

The piece, in todays Guardian by Barney Ronay is about the power of the Centre Court Crowd - one paragraph reads:

"At one point in the third set, as Murray clipped an improbable backhand winner, one woman spectator emitted a chilling staccato shriek that sounded like a feral cat being fed slowly into the rotating blade of a combine harvester. By the end, each point was accompanied by its own distinct thunderclap of baying approval or wailing, primal lament. "

Sadly I was drinking tea when I read this and nearly laughed it out of my nose!!
